Team Princess & Saliva Siblings

One of the highlights of my trip to Zambia (what a beautiful country!), was the white-water rafting we did on the Zambezi river, which divides Zimbabwe and Zambia. We had a VERY awkward trek down into the valley, which took us about 40 mins i'd say. it was probably the dodgiest thing about the whole expedition as people were tripping left, right and center and it was SO steep!

Anyway, we'd divided into teams and somehow I ended with 5 girls from my class but I wasn't the least bit bothered by this as I'm great freidns with all of them. The thing is, as we were paddling down the river, this guy in a another boat KEPT on saying, great job girls. EH HELLO???!!!! I reminded him THREE TIMES that there was a guy on board but he had very selective hearing and continued on. One of the girls decided to call us "Team Princess" at this point just to annoy me and the name stuck!

On the whole, the rafting was absolutely AMAZING! We were the only boat that didn't turn over although we werent exactly the most proactive group....Oops! Had a lovely bonding moment with my friend E too, I'd accidently swallowed a mouthful of water on a particular rapid and went to spit over the edge of the raft. Unfortunately there was a bit of a breeze and I ended up spitting it all on her instead despite the fact that she was behind me!! After that we were bonded as "Saliva Siblings". She thought the whole thing was absolutely hilarious so THANK GOD it wasn't a stranger in the boat!
PS Unfortunately the picutre above is not of us as we didn't have a waterproof camnera at the time, gives a great idea of the beautiful scenery though!
