Something I've always found very frustrating is that you can only do one course in college. Personally, I find it very limiting both academically AND socially. The thing that gets to me is that regardless of how I carry on with my education, I'm going to meet the loveliest of people. So....where are all those potential friends I haven't met but I just KNOW I would get along with???
Fortunately, the past week I've spent in Sziget was one of those times when you get to screw that system over. Myself and my friend N stayed in a hostel and we were immediately greeted by three lovely Aussie girls. After finding out that they were going to Sziget Music Festival as well and a few brief conversations, what did we do?? We decided to go camping at the festival with them, with essentially three complete strangers! We then met their four other friends (two of whom they had met in the hostel randomly) AND we all got along......... AMAZINGLY! I know, I'm using A LOT of capital letters here but we had THE TIME! Three groups of strangers I mean!!!
I now have 5 new Aussie, one German and a British guy as friends and they're all just the NICEST people. I really can't emphasise how much we all got along with each other. It was such a liberating experience. You get to know people so well when you go camping and drinking with each other continuously for 7 days. It's just hard to explain if you haven't experienced that.
So thank you guys and girls for the BEST Sziget ever, ye really made my trip so much more spectacular than I ever could have imagined. I can't wait to catch up in Canberra, Berlin and Birmingham with you all.
:-)
