It's been a ridiculously long time since I've written a proper post but that's how much fun I've been having. I'm currently settling in to Adalide and myeslf and A have found a lovely little apartment down by the beach in Glenelg. OK, so I lie. It's an absolute dive. A hovel to be correct as we have so aptly named it. More importantly though, it came furnished and we were far too lazy to go out lugging a fridge around on my back. A doesn't carry things like that. Or rubbish bins. Or some of her luggage. That's what boys are there for apparently. Anyways, our place is only a 5 minute walk from the beach and today I spent the afternoon reading "The Help" on the sandy shores. That's always nice. Doesn't it look purty?
Work is going well, settling in a bit after my whole 3 days and working with some good people. I even went to a work related BBQ yesterday, or rather a barbie as they call them out here. There was some great food (remind me to never host a BBQ as mine shall never compare) but a disppointing result with the rugby. Ireland lost to Wales in the quarter finals in case you didn't know. Quite disappointing after the epic game I witnessed against Australia. Gah.
On a more positive note, I'm off to the Melbourne Cup in a few weeks. Now, I know absolutely nothing about horse races but it's mostly just an excuse to dress up. I can do that much. I'd be a fool to pass up the opportunity to get drunk in fancy clothes doncha think? I'm also planning a trip to the Outback soon enough. It's only spring here at the moment but it feels like a hot Irish summer already. I think I'm going to melt once it hits 40 degrees on Christmas day. Bah. We all figure if we work Christmas (since we're all away from home) we can go to Sydney for New Year's, which is supposedly kind of amazing.
So I'll leave you on that happynote, talk sooon amigos. Promise to keep in contact more!

Getting drunk while dressed up is the best.
