Holla atcha peeps!

Dear Loyal readers*,

I turned 23 years old yesterday, which I find ever so slightly depressing. I’m also looking into my last EVER 3 month holidays (during which time I’ve got a 4 week placement and Final Year Project to complete…ahhh) before I start into my final year of college and impending doom as a real, live grown up with responsibilities and burdens. So I’ve decided I’d better start recording some of the stuff I get up to, because THIS is going to be one of the BEST summers EVER! (Apologies in advance for sounding like a 12 year old girl who went wild with the “caps lock” button but I really am this excited! I swear I’ll never degrade myself by using words such as 4ends, lyke etc if you stick with me for a while!!) I have so many plans made out, between travelling to London for a weekend getaway, going to Budapest for a music festival and somehow making my way around Zambia, Tanzania and Kenya with 40 classmates, here’s me hoping I’ll have something interesting to write! So I thought I’d leave you with a small introduction into who I am/what I do etc. Feel free to leave comments galore, my ego really needs the boost.

A little bit about me……….

Home: Cork, Ireland
Education: Just finished my 4th year of college, only one year left to go!
Job: Some postgrad teaching.
Interests: Music, films, going/hanging out, travel – especially love jumping on and off trains/buses at random in a new city to see what I can find by pure accident!
Books: Prokofiev Diaries 1907-14, Go ask Alice, Goodnight Mr Tom, Hamlet, Gorillas in the Mist, 1984, The Beach, My book of Photography etc etc
TV Shows: Grey’s Anatomy, Dexter, Survivor, 30 Rock, nature documentaries that everyone else finds ridiculously boring.
Movies: The Kite Runner, Requiem for a Dream, Juno, The Pianist, A Beautiful Mind, Europa Europa, Catch me if you can, Imaginary Heroes, C.R.A.Z.Y., Finding Nemo.
Likes: Youtube, Deep dish Chicago pizza, fudge, Lemon Meringue pie, The Cheesecake Factory and all cheesecakes in general, iPODs, swopping iPODs with a friend for a few days, a sociable drink in the Brog, dancing so hard when you don’t care what anyone thinks of you, Al Gore, Ellen Degeneres, friends who tell you when you’re acting the fool/in the wrong, the good old days.
Dislikes: Cultural and social ignorance, pessimism, stagnancy, that embarrassed feeling you get when you should know the answer to a question in college and don’t, shaving, not having shaved and looking grubby.

Some aims in my life:
Become a teacher/lecturer.
Visit the Northern lights
Visit the Galapagos islands
Open a nursing home
Learn 12 languages
Meet David Attenborough
Live in the Virunga Mountains on the Congo-Rwandan border and study gorillas.
Write for the National Geographic.
